◆ What only we write down

The coach & group pick-up playbook

Birmingham keeps coaches simple: there is no permit scheme. Charter coaches use the official on-site coach park — managed by NCP, close to the terminal, pay-on-arrival at £5 for 30 minutes and £10 for the hour, no advance booking. For a straight set-down at the door there is Comet Road at the front of the terminal (coaches only, no minibuses, no waiting) at £20 per access. Large minibuses use the coach park. Steer clear of the Red Routes — stopping there is a £100 penalty.

“For Birmingham pickups our drivers use the official on-site coach park while the group clears the single-terminal Arrivals hall, then pull to the front of the terminal via Comet Road to load — so your party is met at the door rather than routed to a distant stand.”— Airport Coaches · first-person operational note

Timing & rules

Coach park is pay-on-arrival on a roll-up tariff and cannot be booked in advance. Comet Road Coach Access at the front of the terminal is strictly for coaches (no cars, no minibuses) and is for immediate drop-off or collection only — no waiting is allowed. Minibuses must use the coach park, not Comet Road. Red Routes around the airport prohibit all stopping/dropping off (APCOA enforcement charge £100, reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days).
