London City is the capital's most central airport — a single compact terminal in the Royal Docks, one runway, and a DLR station at the door. For a group organiser that makes the arithmetic simple: there are no inter-terminal transfers to worry about and everyone meets in one ground-floor arrivals hall. What has changed is the forecourt. Since 6 January 2026 dropping off carries a charge, and the pick-up and car parks sit behind a height barrier that a full-size coach cannot pass. This briefing sets out what each movement actually costs and how a group is best met — with the date we last checked every figure against the official source.

◆ What only we write down

Coach parking & group pick-up at London City

London City runs nothing like Heathrow's coach-permit machine — there is no permit scheme and no dedicated coach park published. That is the good news and the catch in one. A minibus within the 3.3-metre height limit can use the standard Drop-off (ten-minute maximum) or the Pick-up car park (from £10 for the first twenty minutes). London City has no coach park, and full-size coaches can't use its car parks or wait at the terminal, so we agree the pick-up point with you when you book. Passengers gather in the single ground-floor arrivals hall the moment they clear customs.

Booked viaNone published — London City Airport does not operate a coach/group permit scheme comparable to Heathrow's West Ramp Coach Park.

“For London City groups we bring our passengers together in the ground-floor arrivals hall, keeping to the tight forecourt time limits at London's most central airport.”— Airport Coaches · first-person operational note
