◆ What only we write down

The coach & group pick-up playbook

Every coach over 16 seats collecting a group at Manchester needs a £25 permit, bought in advance through the airport's AIRDAT 'Onboard' system, to use the yellow bus stops on Palma Avenue at Terminal 2 or bus stop C at Terminal 3; minibuses of up to 16 seats use the Over Height car parks instead. Picking up in the road system is enforced by a Traffic Regulation Order and monitored by police, so the permit route is the only sensible one. Here is the flow — register the company, add the vehicle, buy the permit — with the charges Manchester publishes.

“We register every vehicle on the AIRDAT Onboard system and buy the Manchester permit before we travel, so your coach goes straight to the permitted bus stop at your terminal rather than a road system where pick-ups are police-enforced.”— Airport Coaches · first-person operational note

Timing & rules

Coaches over 16 seats need a £25 permit, bought through the AIRDAT online system before travelling, to drop off and pick up at the yellow bus stops on Palma Avenue at Terminal 2 (no access to the barriered lane) or at bus stop C in the Terminal 3 controlled lane (£25 per visit). T2 Bus Stop H is no longer used for coach pick-up. Bus stop C takes 2 large vehicles; if it is full you may be asked to leave and return. Minibuses of up to 16 seats use the T2 and T3 Over Height car parks. Do not pick up in the road system: it is enforced by a Traffic Regulation Order and monitored by police.
